ALEXANDER MCQUEEN FALL/WINTER 2012.13

Absolutely stunning! Alexander McQueen designer, Sarah Burton, presents a beautiful futuristic and romantic collection that could easily be seen gracing a Metropolitan Museum retrospective sometime in the future. 

There is something so unbelievably beautiful about these garments, their short, puffed volumes intricately textured with fur, feather and flowers, and elegant bursts of pastel orange and red and pink. Hands down the best creative mind in contemporary fashion this season. A++! Peep the collection in motion (above)!

If you haven’t heard of Australian soul bother, Sam Sparro, you’re in for a treat! “Happiness” is the first official single off of Sparro’s latest album Return To Paradise. With a fantastic piano intro and slap bass working it throughout the track, Sam stays true to his funk/dance flair that we LOVE! Check out the track (above) and tell us your thoughts! We think he’s a keeper!

NIGHT ONE

was proposed to by a man with a ring made out of a dollar. served uber rude catholic parents (sported wear from the local catholic school). saw an enormously wealthy 23 year old buy 90 shots. and a ridiculous almost fight. 

so tell me. why do men, no boys feel the need to express their income? and here i welcome you to oil field country. damn.

mr. t and his boss and our friends stopped by. the girls were up at the black jack table and wouldn’t you know they befriended a very wealthy 23 year old who bought them all shots. ok so not so bad. well they all leave, mr. 23 is still there with his friend.

the night is winding down people are slinking home when mr. 23 decides to buy 30 shots. okay, funny, haha. before doing this, the tab was quite nice. it got nicer. onto a second round of 30 shots, then with about five minutes left a third. just pointing this out, but do you know how hard it is to get rid of 90 shots when there is only about 20/25 people? harder than one would think is the answer. 

witnessing this went from funny to holy shit where is your babysitter. 

fall come soon, along with a very large clothing budget!

GUCCI FALL/WINTER 2012.13

Gucci’s Fall 2012 can pretty much be summed up in one word: yes. A sexy array of velvety textures, purple and black hues, floral maxi skirts, and sheer gowns. All Oscar red carpet worthy! Check out footage of the full show (above)!

PRADA FALL/WINTER 2012.13

Pale models with dark eyes, orange eyebrows, and two-tone colored hair graced a larger than life purple carpet today in Milan at the oh-so-luxe Prada Fall ‘12 runway show. “Everyone has a theory about their collections these days, but I’m sick of theory. This collection is about the pleasure of fashion.” said Miuccia Prada about the theme of the collection. Quite possibly our favorite quote of all of fashion week! 

We see a bit of 70s influence in the collection with it’s head-to-toe geometric print (almost reminiscent of 70s wallpaper,no?), crop tops, above-the-waist buckle and fitted jackets, and even some hits of orange. All of that aside, the embellishments were the strongest accent in the collection. Beautiful touches on sleeves, outerwear, and even those to-die structured bags. Prada can just do no wrong! 

Finishing up breakfast at Country Kitchen (also where I waitress) and come to a realization. It’s unique and fortunate when all us ladies who couldn’t be more different, have formed such a fun friendship between us all. It’s lucky, and I am so happy to be a part of it. Definitely a great part about being lost in North Dakota.

Mornings

As the Lady Midgets season is winding down (and we just had our last morning practice 5 mins ago), I realize this bum is going to miss my 4am alarm bringing me and the old subi out for a good morning practice.

only in….

so i cannot say that i dislike walmart, since now of my current locations it is the only place to buy anything. but that does not mean i cannot tell of the completely hilarious experiences there.

mr. t and i went there to get wrapping paper and a few other christmas supplies. i happened to find some fun colorful bulbs, we finish our shopping and get to the check out counter. t points out that there are a few broken bulbs in the box we picked, so i tell the clerk and hand her the box. now keep in mind, almost half of the bulbs are broken. she just looks at me and says, “soooo you still want to buy them?”. see in my mind i felt a little rude pointing out the obvious…”no, i do not”, but i guess sometimes what you think to be the obvious, is oblivious to others.

I’m finding myself watching sex and the city to remind me of what high heels, good clothes and restaurants with cloth napkins are like. People, I live with three boys in a quaint (when I say quaint I mean gross) apartment with plastic blinds. The town? Lets just say an over sized frat house with strong religious views and bars with smoking. 

here it starts…the documenting of my new life changes. even if my dear friend form Minneapolis is the only one tuning in. thanks sunshine.
